White Christmas;The Making of.
As all good things begin, a call “Yo man, we’re setting up a snow run/pole jam in some dude’s backyard”. Ten double cheeseburgers, four hours and a broken shovel later and it was ready.

Promotional image for Brisbane Band Sencabah.
Shot the series at around 5pm in the afternoon, the set was so dark it was hard to see. Conveniently, the batteries in my wireless triggers went so it was all shot with available light.

| This 13 year old kid had been 'commissioned' to shoot his family members wedding, he was asking me what he can buy to "get better photos" as he was the photographer for the wedding. | |
| Kid: | I don't have a lot of money, what can I get? |
| (We decided that a 50mm f/1.8 would be the best thing he can spend his money on) | |
| Kid: | Okay cool, and with this lens, how much zoom does it have? |
| Me: | .... |
| Later on | |
| Kid: | I watched a video about using the lens, apparently you can change this one to f/1.6? |
| Me: | I've never heard of any modifications you can make to the lens, maybe you can show me the video? |
| (we watch the video and instead it has the guy in it talking about stopping down to f/5.6) | |
| Me: | Oh he's just stopping it down to f/5.6, just like you would with any lens to get maximum sharpness, I would stop down to f/8 myself though. |
| Kid: | How do I do that? |

Last-night I was conversing with our Canon rep and learned of a rather interesting fact; that glorious metadata of yours that seems to disappear upon upload? Facebook not only saves it from all your images, it compiles the data into a database that it then on-sells to camera manufacturers. The data isn’t publicly broadcasted, permitting them to monopolise on it’s perceived value.
What is the most common you ask? The iPhone - no surprises there.
Personally I see this as a relatively harmless move to the user, if not slightly malefic of Facebook, but, what’s new?
What’s your opinion?

Over in Wellington, New Zealand for the world cup last year. This particular occasion I only decided to saddle up the camera in order to get a photo of you Uncle’s Girlfriend’s number plate that I-shit-you-not read ‘JUGS’. Times.
